Ghana legend Asamoah Gyan has led glowing tributes for Antoine Semenyo after the forward delivered a match-winning performance in Manchester City’s FA Cup final victory over Chelsea at Wembley.
Reacting on X, the former Black Stars captain wrote: “Every Ghanaian should be proud of this guy” 🔥🔥🔥, in celebration of Semenyo’s decisive display on one of football’s biggest stages.
Semenyo scored the only goal of the game as Manchester City edged Chelsea 1–0 to lift the 2025/26 FA Cup title, securing his second piece of silverware since joining the club from Bournemouth in January.
The 25-year-old enjoyed a remarkable season split between both clubs, underlining his consistency and growing reputation in English football.
At Bournemouth, Semenyo registered 10 goals and 3 assists before his mid-season switch to City, where he matched that output with another 10 goals and 3 assists under Pep Guardiola.
Across the entire 2025/26 campaign, the Ghana international finished with an impressive total of 20 goals and 6 assists in all competitions, marking the most productive season of his career so far.
His rapid rise, combined with a match-winning moment at Wembley, has further cemented his status as one of Ghana’s most influential forwards in Europe.
