The goalkeepers’ trainer of Heart of Lions, Stephen Ahorlu, has attributed their slow start to the 2023/24 BetPawa Premier League to inexperience. The returning team has had a modest beginning to the season, playing five games without a win and yet to suffer a loss.
Speaking to Radio Gold Sports, Stephen Ahorlu explained, “What I can say about our return is that most of our players are the same set that we used in Division One. We just have one player from Kotoku Royals who played in the Premiership last season, and even that player is injured.”
He continued, “Most of them are from different clubs, first division players, so you can see there is a little bit of inexperience. But as time goes on, I hope things will get better. They are now adapting to the style of play, so as time progresses, things will change.”
Currently, Heart of Lions is in 15th place with 5 points and will face Karela United in week seven at the Hohoe stadium.
