Heart of Lions, who recently returned to the Ghana Premier League, are still in pursuit of their first victory in the current campaign after five matches, but Coach Fatawu Salisu remains hopeful about their prospects to break the winless streak.
In their most recent fixture, they managed to secure a 2-2 draw against Bibiani Gold Stars. This encounter witnessed a remarkable comeback from a 0-2 deficit, with Mustapha Yakubu and Ebenezer Abban finding the net to level the score after Alex Aso and Appiah McCarthy had given Bibiani the lead.
Following the match, Coach Salisu shared his desire for the team to claim their first win of the season. He also viewed their goal-scoring performance as a positive sign that a victory is within reach.
“I must say I’m satisfied; at least it’s better than losing, so, of course, I’m very satisfied with my boys’ performance,” Coach Salifu remarked.
“We are still in search of our first win… Scoring goals has sometimes been a challenge for us, but today we capitalized on at least two of our chances, which earned us a valuable point. Our ability to score today suggests to me that victories are on the horizon, and I’m confident we’ll start winning matches soon.”
Currently, Heart of Lions hold the 15th position in the 18-team league standings.
