The Business African Consulting (The BAC) Group, organizers of the 2023 ‘All Star Festival,’ has announced that Avram Grant, the Zambian national team coach, will lead the technical team for foreign-based players during the event in Brong Ahafo, Ghana in June.
Dr. Ernest Koranteng, Chief Executive of The BAC Group, revealed this during a media soiree held at the company’s head office in East Legon, Accra. Grant, an experienced coach, will be supported by renowned Ghanaian coach Kwadwo Essien Acheampong.
For Grant, this will be his third national team assignment, having previously coached Israel and Ghana. At the club level, he has managed English Premier League teams such as Chelsea, West Ham, and Portsmouth, as well as clubs in Serbia, Thailand, India, and Israel.
Grant expressed his delight in reuniting with some of his former players from the Ghana national team, including Andre Ayew, Jordan Ayew, Afriyie Acquah, and Mubarak Wakaso, among others.
The All Star Festival will feature several prominent players, including Mohammed Kudus, Osman Bukari, Lawrence Ati-Zigi, Majeed Ashimeru, KamalDeen Sulemana, Gideon Mensah, and Emmanuel Boateng, among others.
The three-day event will kick off with a float in Bechem on June 20, followed by a Football Business Conference involving 133 clubs from the premier, division one, and division two tiers of Brong Ahafo football. Other activities include CSR announcements, a special curtain raiser match, a gala night with dinner and awards, a tour of Baffour Soccer Center, and a Durbar in honor of the All Star team.
This year’s All Star Festival is the second edition, with the first edition taking place at the Accra Sports Stadium in Accra.
