Darren Bent, former Tottenham Hotspur and England striker, has urged Arsenal to retain midfielder Thomas Partey.
Despite Declan Rice’s arrival from West Ham, Partey’s chances in the Premier League seem uncertain.
Although the Ghanaian international played a vital role for Arsenal last season, injuries affected his consistency.
While some Saudi clubs have offered a lucrative $10 million-a-year deal to Partey, the player seems uninterested in leaving Arsenal.
Darren Bent believes that keeping Partey for the upcoming season will strengthen Arsenal’s midfield, especially as they gear up for the UEFA Champions League.
Bent suggests that with Partey anchoring the midfield, players like Rice and Odegaard will have more freedom to contribute to the attack.
“I’d keep Thomas Partey, Partey Rice Odegaard that’s a serious midfield combination, give Rice more of a license to go forward,” Darren Bent tweeted.
The 29-year-old midfielder has also attracted interest from Italian Serie A side, Juventus.
Currently, Partey is with the team as they prepare for the start of the 2023/24 season.
