Former Rock-Solid defender of Ghana’s Black Stars John Mensah is anticipating a tough encounter between the Pharoahs of Egypt and Ghana at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations tournament.
The competition will be held in Ivory Coast next year January with Ghana set to face Egypt in what is expected to be one of the finals before the final on January 18, 2024.
“It will be a difficult match, and it will not be an easy match. I think of it as an early final before the final,” the former defender told Egyptian outlet Filgoal.
“We are not afraid of any country. If we train well and have a good day, we can go far,” Mensah outlined.
“If your opponent makes a mistake and you capitalize on it, this gives you an additional advantage.”
Mensah was part of Ghana’s first ever team to play at the World Cup in 2006 in Germany when Ghana reached the round of 16 games.
