Former Ghana captain John Mensah is brimming in confidence ahead of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations tournament in Ivory Coast next year January.
According to the legend, Ghana will face any team fair and square in the upcoming competition in search of their fifth trophy and first in over 42 years.
“It will be a difficult match, and it will not be an easy match. I think of it as an early final before the final,” the former defender told Egyptian outlet Filgoal.
“We are not afraid of any country. If we train well and have a good day, we can go far,” Mensah outlined.
“If your opponent makes a mistake and you capitalize on it, this gives you an additional advantage.”
Mensah was part of Ghana’s first ever team to play at the World Cup in 2006 in Germany when Ghana reached the round of 16 games.
