Hearts of Oak are on the brink of securing the services of Tunisian manager Nabil Maaloul as their new head coach, succeeding David Ocloo, according to Opoku Afriyie (Pkay).
Reliable sources indicate that the appointment is being made based on a recommendation from the club’s technical director, Rene Hiddink.
Nabil Maaloul, a renowned figure in African football, is set to ink a long-term contract with the illustrious MTN FA Cup titleholders in Ghana. The club’s management and board view him as the ideal leader for their ambitious project.
With a wealth of experience at the age of 60, Maaloul has significantly contributed to African football throughout his coaching journey. Notably, he achieved a treble victory with ES De Tunis in 2011, securing the Tunisia League, Tunisia Cup, and the CAF Champions League.
His coaching prowess extended to Kuwait, where he guided Kuwait SC to victory in the premier league and Emir Cup during the 2021/22 season. In addition, he clinched the Qatar Cup with EL Jaish in 2014.
Nabil Maaloul is expected to finalize the necessary formalities during his visit to Ghana by the end of this week. Following this, he will assume responsibility for the team from Rene Hiddink, taking over the preseason preparations.
