Black Stars midfielder Mohammed Kudus has held talks with Barcelona President Joan Laporta regarding a possible transfer over the summer, Sportsworldghana.com understands.
Kudus was Ghana’s star man at the 2022 FIFA World Cup after netting two goals and assisting another in the Black Stars’ three games in Group H.
His performance in Qatar was just an add-up to the excellent start he has had to the 2022/23 season playing mainly as a striker for Dutch side Ajax.
The 22-year-old has been involved in 11 goals for Ajax in 20 games this season across all competitions including four goals and two assists in the UEFA Champions League.
He also has five goals in 14 Eredivisie appearances this campaign.
Prior to Ghana’s final game against Uruguay, Barcelona’s director Jordi Cruyff confirmed the midfielder is a player the club has been keeping an eye on for the past year.
“We’ve been tracking Mohammed Kudus for more than one year. We can’t say now that Barça want Kudus… but he’s attracting interest,” he told RAC 1.
“He’s scoring goals and in Holland, they discuss a lot about his position, so yes – I know him well”.
But SportsWorldGhana gathers the player has now held talks with Barca’s president.
The meeting was held in Qatar between the player, his agent and the Barcelona President before the Uruguay game.
