Mega-rich Premier League club, Newcastle United are plotting a move for Ghana and Leicester City defender Daniel Amartey, new.sportsworldghana.com can exclusively report.

Amartey, 28, has emerged on the radar of the Magpies after having an impressive campaign with Ghana’s Black Stars in the just ended FIFA World Cup in Qatar.

The versatile defender consistently been linked with a move away from the King Power stadium since last summer with a number of Premier League sides reported to have declared their interests in his services.

But it’s Newcastle United who look to be in pole position for the signature of the former Inter Allies FC star when the January transfer window opens.

The St James’ Park outfit are expected to submit an official bid to Leicester City as seek to improve their defensive options ahead of a busy second round of the 2022-23 Premier League season.

Newcastle are currently third on the Premier League standings behind Arsenal and champions Manchester City.
