Asante Kotoko have decided to keep Prince Yaw Owusu in charge as interim head coach for the remainder of the 2025/26 Ghana Premier League season, with 11 matches left to play, Sportsworldghana.com has gathered.
The decision was taken by the club’s Interim Management Committee (IMC), which has since submitted its full technical report to the newly-elected board. Included in the report is the recommendation for Owusu to continue leading the Porcupine Warriors until the end of the campaign.
Kotoko currently sit fourth on the league table with 39 points, seven points behind leaders Medeama SC, as the title race intensifies. With the season entering a decisive phase, the club appears keen on maintaining stability in the dugout rather than making another managerial change.
Owusu has overseen three matches since taking charge, recording one win, one draw, and one defeat. While the results have been mixed, the IMC believes continuity could be crucial as Kotoko push to close the gap at the top.
Next up for the Reds is a challenging Matchday 25 fixture away in Tamale against Karela United, a game that could prove pivotal in their pursuit of a top-three finish—or even a late title surge.
With 11 games remaining, Owusu now has a clear mandate: steady the ship, improve consistency, and keep Kotoko firmly in the title conversation.
