Asante Kotoko advanced to the round of 32 in the ongoing MTN FA Cup after clinching a convincing 2-0 victory against lower-tier side Future Stars FC.
The match, held at their beloved Baba Yara Stadium, showcased the prowess of the Porcupines, highlighted by a standout performance from forward Albert Amoah.
The breakthrough came in the 65th minute when Amoah capitalized on a precise through ball from midfielder Saaka. With composure, he slotted it past the Future Stars goalkeeper, igniting celebrations among the Kotoko faithful.
Dominating possession in the second half, Kotoko doubled their lead in the 86th minute with another impressive goal from Amoah. This time, he struck a superb shot from outside the box that found the top left corner, leaving the keeper with no chance.
Despite being on the back foot, Future Stars FC fought valiantly until the final whistle, refusing to relent as they searched for a goal against the robust Kotoko defense.
However, their efforts did not yield results, and the match ended with a scoreline of 2-0 in favor of Asante Kotoko, who now look forward to the next round of the MTN FA Cup.
