Farnham Town have announced the signing of striker Trae Cook-Appiah from National League South side Hemel Hempstead until May 2027.

The 25-year-old striker rose to prominence during an electric spell with Walton & Hersham in the Southern League Premier South, where he scored 10 goals in 28 appearances prompting National League side Wealdstone to sign him for an undisclosed fee in February 2024.

Later that season, Trae joined Slough Town on loan where he scored five goals in eight games in the National League South, earning himself a transfer to Hemel Hempstead in the summer of 2024.

Trae got off to a great start to the 24/25 season in the National League South, providing three goal contributions in five games before suffering a significant knee ligament injury in a 4-2 win against Bath City in August 2024 that ruled him out for the rest of the season.

Retained by Hemel Hempstead for the 25/26 campaign, Trae made his comeback from injury after nearly 14 months out, coming off the bench in a 1-0 win against Bath City in October 2025, going on to make 31 appearances in the league for the Tudors as they secured a Play-Off place.

“Trae I believe is someone that’s going to really excite the fans next season with his athleticism and goalscoring,” manager Paul Johnson said.

“Having watched him at Walton and Slough, I’ve seen his goalscoring prowess and ability to make things happen.

“Obviously at Hemel, he was hampered for a long time by injury, but has come through that now and contributed to their Play-Off push in the second half of the season.

“He’s got a lot of exciting traits that we were looking for in our recruitment plans, and I can’t wait to start working with Trae next season.”

Chairman Harry Hugo said: “We’re really excited about getting the best version of Trae next season.

“He’s obviously had a really tough time over the last two years with his knee injury and then battling back from that, but he’s in a great place now.

“In the years prior, he shown he has explosive pace and real goalscoring prowess at this level. Now he just needs an opportunity to do that again and I’m excited that opportunity is coming here at Farnham.”
