Fatawu Issahaku’s Leicester City has officially earned promotion from the Championship to the Premier League after Leeds United suffered a surprising 4-0 defeat to QPR.

With 94 points and two games remaining, Leicester only needed a win against Preston North End to secure their promotion, regardless of other results.

Leeds’ loss on Friday confirmed Leicester’s promotion as they now cannot finish lower than second in the league.

This achievement comes after a successful campaign where Leicester managed to maintain their core squad from their relegation from the Premier League, along with some key additions.

Jamie Vardy, Issahaku Fatawu, Stephy Mavididi, Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, Harry Winks, Jannik Vestergaard, Wout Faes, and Ricardo Pereira have all played crucial roles in Leicester’s promotion back to the top tier.

Meanwhile, Leeds remains in second place with Ipswich close behind in third, and other teams like Southampton, West Brom, and Norwich in the playoff positions.

In the Premier League, Sheffield United faces relegation to the Championship if they lose to Newcastle.
