FC AshantiGold 04 have officially booked their place in the Ghana Premier League after a convincing 4-1 victory over Skyy FC in Zone II of the Division One League. The win secures promotion with three matches still left to play, highlighting the team’s strong form this season.
Under the guidance of experienced coach , the team delivered an impressive performance, dominating the game and showing why they have been one of the most consistent sides throughout the campaign.
This promotion is a major step forward for the Obuasi-based club, which has quickly built a reputation as a serious competitor. Although the name may sound familiar, FC AshantiGold 04 is not the same as the former . The original club was demoted to Division Two by the after a match-fixing case during the 2020/21 season.
FC AshantiGold 04 is actually a rebranded version of Bekwai Heroes FC Ltd, created to compete in the 2025/26 Division One League and represent the Adansiman area. The GFA has clearly stated that this new club is legally separate and does not carry any of the previous club’s penalties or debts.
With promotion now secured, the focus shifts to preparing for life in the top division, where Karim Zito and his team will aim to prove themselves among Ghana’s elite clubs.
