FC Bocholt have announced the signing of German-born Ghanaian striker Jesaja Herrmann. The 25-year-old forward signed a contract on Friday at Bocholter Hünting and is expected to strengthen the club’s attacking force.

Jesaja Herrmann was born in Kiel and began his football training in the youth departments of Hannover 96 and later VfL Wolfsburg, where he stood out in the junior Bundesliga with numerous goals. After his time in Wolfsburg’s youth development center, he gained his first experience in senior football with VfL Wolfsburg II in the Regionalliga Nord.

Charles-Jesaja Herrmann expressed his excitement after completing the move to continue his career development. “I made the decision to take this step deliberately. The conversations with those responsible were convincing. I am looking forward to the project at 1. FC Bocholt and will do everything I can to achieve the goals with the club.” he said.

His path continued in 2021 to the Belgian Jupiler Pro League with KV Kortrijk, where he made his first appearances in professional football. This was followed by a loan to NAC Breda in the Netherlands, as well as stints in Germany with SV Waldhof Mannheim in the 3rd league and in Austria with SKU Amstetten, where Herrmann played regularly in the 2nd league in the 2024/25 season and scored several goals. Most recently, in the 2025/26 season, he was under contract with the Luxembourg top-tier club Racing FC Union Luxembourg (twelve official games, eight goals).

Jesaja Herrmann brings not only his experience in professional football but also international youth experience: he played many games for German youth national teams up to the U19 level and was active there as a goal-threatening forward.

Meanwhile, Christopher Schorch, Managing Director of Sports at FC Bocholt shared his thoughts on the signing of the club’s new striker.

“With the signing of Jesaja Herrmann, we have succeeded in securing our top-choice forward. He combines physical presence and toughness with technical skill. Jesaja has consistently demonstrated his goal-scoring threat at his previous clubs.”
