FC Magdeburg’s sporting director, Otmar Schork, is optimistic that new signing Patric Pfeiffer will quickly adapt and make a significant impact following his loan move from FC Augsburg.

The 25-year-old Ghanaian defender has joined Magdeburg on loan for the remainder of the season after finding limited playing time at Swiss club BSC Young Boys during the first half of the campaign.

Schork highlighted Pfeiffer’s experience and ability to bolster Magdeburg’s defense as they aim for a strong finish in the 2. Bundesliga.

“Following Andi Hoti’s departure, we saw the need to strengthen our central defense. With Patric, we are getting a player with significant second-division experience who can immediately help us,” Schork said.

Pfeiffer previously played a key role at SV Darmstadt 98, helping them secure promotion to the Bundesliga before moving to Augsburg.

Magdeburg’s head coach, Christian Titz, who worked with Pfeiffer in Hamburg’s youth setup, also expressed confidence in his abilities, calling him “a complete defender with strong physical attributes.”
