German football is blessed with mentality as the former defender Phillip Lahm said in The Guardian.

Spanish football is blessed with tiki-taka and an incredible passers of the ball.

Brazil is the home of pure entertainment and the Argentines have been blessed with Diego Maradona and Lionel Messi.

The continent Africa is blessed with athleticism and strength in football. Check players from the Ivory Coast. Nigeria, DR Congo, Burkina Faso and Cameroon among many others. You will realise how the continent is blessed with powerful and energetic players.

When it comes to left-footed playmakers in abundance, Ghana will certainly lead the African continent.

Per research published in the American Journal of Psychology, lefties appear to be better at divergent thinking. People who are left-handed and legged are considered to be good at complex reasoning.

In the famous Noble Prize Awards, most winners are left-handed.
Musicians, writers, surgeons, artists, and mathematicians that are left have displayed a wonder talent than their right-handed counterparts.

In short, people that use their left hand and legs are more gifted and talented than those that use their right.

Flashback to the early 90s when Abedi Pele was the undoubted king of the African continent. The maestro Pele was a real crowd-pleaser with continuous stellar performances for Olympique Marseille and the Black Stars of Ghana. He is undoubtedly the finest left-footed player to have ever come from Africa. He never disappeared at any moment as he managed and delivered at those big stages.

Abedi Pele is the leader of the gifted and talented left-footed Ghanaian players.

How lucky can Ghana be for being able to get all these talented left-footed footballers over and over and over again?

How many countries in the world can boast of high-spec left-footed players in the world like Ghana in abundance?

Sulley Muntari, the former Udinese Inter Milan, AC Milan, Portsmouth, Sunderland and Accra Hearts of Oak midfielder was a gifted footballer. His left leg was his biggest asset as his shot power was beyond imagination. Remember the goal he scored against Uruguay in the quarter-finals of the 2010 FIFA World Cup. In the 2014 World Cup in Brazil, he was a monster in Ghana’s 2-2 against eventual winners Germany.

Kwadwo Asamoah spent 6 trophy-laden seasons with Juventus. During his stay with the Bianconeri, the talented playmaker was converted to a left-wing back due to his versatility. A bonafide number 10, Kwadwo was so good that he was considered one of the best playmakers during his peak years. His telepathic understanding with Asamoah Gyan at the national team was so beautiful. FIFA recognises his assist to Gyan in the 2014 World Cup against Portugal as one of the best to have ever happened at the World Cup.

Dede Ayew might not be as flamboyant as Kwadwo Asamoah and his father but his fighting spirit and dedication made him a Ghanaian favourite. Andre Ayew has the power and the lungs to enjoy 90 minutes without getting tired.

Abdul Baba Rahman was signed by Chelsea from Augsburg in 2015 after showing many glimpses at Kumasi Asante Kotoko and Greuthur Furth. Injuries destroyed his talent yet he has been able to revive himself and doing exceptionally well at PAOK even at 29.

And now to the new school, Mohammed Kudus is their headmaster. Signed by Westham from Ajax Amsterdam, the Right To Dream Academy graduate is a great dribbler as he leads the whole of the top 5 leagues in Europe with the most successful dribbles. Since joining the Hammers, he has exceeded expectations with great goals and individual brilliance. His left foot has a thousand traits that will lead him to the top level of the game. Kudus knows how to shoot with his left foot and the world knows his capabilities.

Ernest Nuamah is at Olympique Lyon in French Ligue 1. The youngster is very difficult to defend against. His ability to cut in with ease makes him dangerous as he has shown in France. Nuamah has immense pace and can torment any team on any day.

Abdul Fatawu Issahaku in just a year has become Leicester City’s favourite son. Just watch Fatawu Issahaku and thank me later. The young forward has been managed extremely well by Enzo Maresca as his potential has been exposed to the world. The EPL will be a huge step for him but he has what it takes to torment every defender in the upcoming season.

The next is Abdul Aziz Issah of Dreams FC, the diminutive playmaker is a delight to watch. The ball is always glued to his feet. Only 18, many football clubs in Africa and Europe have registered their interest in the teenager. He has been so sensational since being promoted from the Dreams FC youth team to the senior team. His biggest assets are set piece taking, ball retention and dribbling.

Left-footed playmakers are gifted and few countries can now boast of them in abundance in the world of football.

Is Ghana the king of left-footed playmakers now?
