In a battle between two European heavyweights, Germany, the European champions proved to be the best against Spain as 17-year-old Paris Brunner, the Borrusia Dortmund forward who won the best player in the European Championship converted a 64th-minute penalty that won the game for Germany.
Germany became the first team to qualify for the semi-finals with a sweet victory at the Jakarta International Stadium in Jakarta, the capital of Indonesia.
Germany has won all the five games they have played at the ongoing FIFA U-17 World Cup making them genuine contenders for the title.
The winner between Brazil and Argentina later in the day will play Germany in the semi-finals.
