In a very entertaining encounter between Germany and the US, the Europeans emerged victors as Charles Hermann in the 14th minute put them ahead. Taha Habroube in the 24th minute levelled matters for the USA as Max Moerstedt restored Germany’s lead in the 34th minute.
The USA in the second half in the 80th minute once again levelled the score with David Vazquez scoring the equaliser.
With three minutes to end the game, Yalcinkaya Bilal delivered the sucker punch having been on the pitch just for just one minute.
Germany is through to the quarter-finals while the USA is eliminated.
