Medeama forward Benjamin Bature has expressed dissatisfaction with the penalty awarded to Asante Kotoko in their Ghana Premier League week 11 encounter, insisting that it was not a legitimate decision.
Asante Kotoko secured a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Medeama at the Baba Yara Stadium, with the decisive goal coming from a penalty awarded after George Mfegue was brought down by a Medeama defender.
Sheriff Mohammed successfully converted the penalty to secure the win for the Ghanaian giants.
In an interview with Kessben FM, Bature voiced his disappointment, pointing out that their disallowed goal was not offside, and he questioned the legitimacy of the penalty awarded against his team.
“We feel disappointed because our first goal against Kotoko wasn’t offside, but the match officials ruled out a perfect goal. The penalty awarded against us too was not legitimate,” stated the enterprising forward.
Medeama, currently participating in the CAF Champions League, holds the 8th position on the Ghana Premier League table with 16 points from 11 games.
