Ghana international Thomas Partey will be absent from the upcoming Black Stars friendly matches in the March international break as he continues his recovery process.
The Black Stars are set to resume action for the first time since the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations tournament, with scheduled matches against Nigeria and Uganda in preparation for the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.
While most regular national team players are expected to be called up, sources indicate that Thomas Partey will be granted permission to sit out these upcoming games.
Having recently returned from a four-month injury layoff, the Arsenal midfielder is being given additional time to fully recuperate and avoid the risk of reinjury.
Despite his absence, Partey remains dedicated to the Black Stars and is committed to answering future call-ups when fully fit.
Additionally, the Ghana Football Association (GFA) is poised to unveil a new head coach for the Black Stars this week. Subsequently, the coach will announce the squad for the friendly matches against Nigeria and Uganda scheduled for March 22 and March 26, respectively.
