Emmanuel Gyamfi, the winger for Aduana FC, is considering a comeback to his old club, Asante Kotoko.
He used to be their captain, playing under the current coach, Prosper Ogum, during the 2021/22 season. They clinched the Ghana Premier League title back then. Gyamfi had been with Kotoko since 2016 but left three seasons ago to join the Fire Boys.
Now 29, Gyamfi shared his thoughts on Kotoko’s current struggles in an interview with Ghana Sports Page. He expressed his hopes for the club’s improvement but remained tight-lipped about his potential return to the Baba Yara Stadium.
“I can’t discuss my contract with Aduana publicly, but as a footballer, I’m open to offers from any team that presents a good deal,” he stated.
Kotoko’s performance has been disappointing in 2024, with only one win so far, placing them 11th in the Ghana Premier League standings. Their recent string of defeats has strained relations between the management and the fans.
