Former Asante Kotoko forward Dickson Afoakwa has joined Division One side Rainmasters FC on a two-year deal, aiming to revive his career.
The 26-year-old has been unattached since leaving Kotoko at the start of the 2023/24 Ghana Premier League season.
Afoakwa, who was a key player for the Porcupine Warriors during the 2021/22 season, helped them win the Ghana Premier League title after a trophy drought. In his two seasons at Kotoko, he made 25 league appearances and will be looking to bring his experience to the Accra-based club.
Rainmasters FC, formerly known as Accra Athletic FC, will be taking on debutant True Democracy in their first match of the 2024/25 Access Bank Division One League season.
With Afoakwa on board, they will be counting on his experience to help them secure a topflight promotion next season.
The signing is expected to boost the team’s morale and add depth to their squad as they look to make a strong impression in their debut season in the Division One League.
