Former Asante Kotoko midfielder Emmanuel Kwame Keyekeh is on the brink of officially becoming a Tanzanian citizen, as reported by African football expert Micky Jnr.
The 26-year-old has initiated the process by renouncing his Ghanaian citizenship. His passport has been submitted to the Director of Passports in Ghana for cancellation, with all required documentation signed and confirmed, marking the conclusion of Ghana’s involvement in the transition.
The Ministry of the Interior in Ghana has also approved the process, leaving only the issuance of a Tanzanian passport by the country’s authorities to finalize his citizenship switch.
Keyekeh, currently playing for Singida Black Stars SC in the Tanzanian Premier League, is making a significant career move. The Taifa Stars’ officials have reportedly been in talks with the midfielder since his arrival in Tanzania, ultimately convincing him to switch international allegiance.
Despite his impressive club career, including Ghana Premier League titles with both Asante Kotoko and FC Samartex, Keyekeh never had the chance to feature for Ghana’s Black Stars.
