Former Black Stars goalkeeper, Fatau Dauda as open the lid on when he first saw saw $2,000.00 in his carrier as professional footballer.
Playing for the Black Meteors in an Olympic qualifier against South Africa in 2008, the goalkeeper was part of the team that stunned Amaglug-glug in their own back yard to progress to final game against Nigeria.
‘’we went to south Africa to play olympic qualifier with south Africa we beat them 3-1 there we came like three four days they gave us bonus 2 thousand dollars, that was my first time of holding more than 700 and 500 dollars” the player said in an interview
The exploits of the shot stopper in the qualifier was enough to earn him a spot in the Senior national team as Ghana hosted the AFCON. Fatau Dauda had to wait till the Nation Cup in South Africa in 2013 and the FIFA World Cup in Brazil to become a regular in the team. Fatau Dauda also played for Okwaku United, Chippa United, Orlando Pirates, Ashantigold and Enyimba Fc in Nigeria
