Ghanaian midfielder Joseph Alfred Duncan delivered a remarkable performance as Fiorentina secured a victory over Atalanta in the Italian Serie A.
Duncan, a former Black Stars midfielder, played a key role in Fiorentina’s thrilling 3-2 win on matchday four at the Stadio Artemio Franchi. He started the match and played for 88 minutes, making a significant impact.
In a fiercely competitive contest, Atalanta took an early lead with Teun Koopmeiners scoring in the 20th minute. However, Giacomo Bonaventura, an Italian playing for Fiorentina, equalized for the home team in the 35th minute. Lucas Martinez Quarta then extended Fiorentina’s lead before the half-hour mark, with an assist from Duncan.
Atalanta managed to level the score again, thanks to Nigerian forward Ademola Lookman, who found the net in the 53rd minute. However, Fiorentina demonstrated their dominance and secured the winning goal through Christian Kouamé in the 76th minute.
