Ghanaian forward Kamal Sowah made an impressive debut for Standard Liege in the Jupiler Pro League, scoring a goal against Eupen on Sunday.
Sowah, 23, joined Liege during the recent summer transfer window after facing challenges at Club Brugge. He was included in Liege’s starting lineup for the match against Eupen at the Kehrwegstadion.
Wilfried Kanga opened the scoring for Liege just before halftime, taking advantage of a significant opponent’s mistake and placing the ball into the bottom left corner. Hayao Kawabe added another goal for Liege before the halftime break.
Kamal Sowah secured the victory for Liege in the 75th minute with a well-placed finish. The Ghanaian international skillfully penetrated the box to connect with a cross and slot the ball into the bottom right corner.
Although Alfred Finnbogason scored a late injury-time goal to reduce the deficit for Eupen, the game concluded with a 3-1 victory for Standard Liege. Sowah’s debut goal marked an impressive start to his career with the club.
