Cape Coast Venomous Vipers, a former Premier League team, has secured qualification for the upcoming Access Bank Division One League after securing a 1-0 victory over Young Red Bull FC in the finals of the Central Regional Division Two middle League.
Albert Ato Hammond scored the decisive goal, granting Vipers passage to the second-tier league.
Throughout the season, Vipers demonstrated their excellence, maintaining an impeccable record and securing the qualification ticket.
As a veteran club in Ghanaian football, Vipers were among the first teams invited to participate in the inaugural league in 1956, during the era of amateur football.
Although they experienced intermittent spells in the Ghanaian top flight, Vipers faced relegation from the highest level of Ghanaian football in 1990.
Now, their long wait for professional football has come to an end as they prepare to compete in the second-tier league. Excitingly, they are expected to face their longtime city rivals, Cape Coast Mysterious Ebusua Dwarfs.
Venomous Vipers will be competing in Zone Two of the Access Bank Division One League.
