At 2:00 this afternoon, the Black Stars will face Madagascar in the fifth round of Group E qualifiers for the 2023 African Cup of Nations (AFCON).
Ghana enters the match in Antananarivo with the knowledge that a victory will secure their place in the 2023 AFCON, which will be held in Cote D’Ivoire in January and February next year.
Head Coach Chris Hughton will be without several key players due to injuries, including Baba Rahman, Gideon Mensah, Alexander Djiku, Mohammed Salisu, Inaki Williams, and others.
Despite the situation, Hughton still has a strong squad of players to choose from.
In the starting eleven, Lawrence Ati Zigi is expected to be in goal, while Alidu Seidu will likely start as right back and Patrick Kpozo as left back, making his first start. Joseph Aidoo and Daniel Amartey are expected to form the defensive pairing.
In midfield, Salis Abdul Samed and Thomas Partey are likely to play in front of the defense, with Mohammed Kudus slightly ahead of them.
Captain Andre Ayew is expected to make his debut start under Chris Hughton, leading the attack alongside Jordan Ayew and Joseph Paintsil.
