Ghanaian forward Eric Ayiah has sealed a season-long loan move to Portuguese third-tier outfit Varzim Sport Club from FC Felgueiras in search of regular playing time for the 2025/26 campaign.

The 25-year-old, who once captained Ghana at U17 level, completed the switch to the Segunda Divisão side just before the transfer deadline.

Varzim officially announced the deal via their Facebook page, stating: “Eric Ayiah is loaned out from FC Felgueiras until 2026.”

Ayiah featured prominently for Felgueiras last season, scoring five goals and registering three assists in 29 appearances. However, with competition for starting spots growing at the club, both parties agreed on the loan move to ensure the forward gains consistent minutes.

His arrival is expected to significantly bolster Varzim’s attacking options as the Sea Wolves mount a push for Liga 3 promotion. For Ayiah, the move also represents an opportunity to rediscover his best form and re-establish himself as a key figure in Portuguese football.
