Sportsworldghana.com can confirm that former Accra Great Olympics FC star player, Maxwell Abbey Quaye, has officially signed with Iraqi side Duhok SC.
Quaye’s move to Duhok SC marks a new chapter in his career, as he joins the club on a lucrative three-year contract as a free agent. He departed Ghana Premier League side Great Olympics at the beginning of the 2022-23 season.
The talented striker was an integral part of the Ghana Black Stars team during the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations tournament held in Cameroon, where unfortunately, Ghana was eliminated during the group stages.
During his time with Great Olympics, Quaye showcased his skills and prowess, making him one of the key players for the team during the 2020-21 and 2021-22 seasons. His impressive performance on the field earned him a spot in the senior national team, the Black Stars, and the Black Galaxies team.
Over the course of two seasons, Quaye managed to score an impressive tally of 23 goals in 61 matches, a feat that further solidified his status as a highly promising player.
With his move to Duhok SC, the 25-year-old forward looks forward to making his mark in the Iraqi league and continue his journey of growth and success in the world of professional football.
