Egypt Premier League side Eastern Company SC have terminated former Accra Hearts of Oak SC midfielder Benjamin Afutu Kotey due to poor performance according to various media reports.
The box-to-box midfielder joined the Egypt Premier League newbies on a three-year deal in September 2021 as a free agent.
Afutu joined Hearts from Karela United FC in the 2017/18 season and had a mixed four seasons spell with the Phobians before joining the Egyptian outfit, Eastern Company SC October last year.
The midfielder has made just eight appearances in the ongoing 2021-22 Egyptian Premier League campaign as his team sits bottom on the league table.
He was one of the most important players for the Phobians in the 2020-21 season when they won both the Ghana Premier League title and the MTN FA Cup trophy.
