Former Ghana international Samuel Inkoom shares his optimistic perspective on Asante Kotoko’s chances in the 2023/24 Ghana Premier League, asserting that the Porcupine Warriors have the potential to secure the league title after going trophiless last season.

As Asante Kotoko currently holds the 7th position on the domestic top-flight table, their journey has been marked by overcoming a challenging start to the season. A noteworthy milestone in their resurgence was a triumphant 3-2 victory over their arch-rivals, Accra Hearts of Oak, in a recent match.

Reflecting on Kotoko’s performance, the ex-Black Stars defender emphasizes their capability to clinch the league title, provided they maintain focus and continue their positive trajectory.

Inkoom commends the team’s recent display against Hearts of Oak, stating, “I think they are on course, they played a good game against Hearts of Oak and I hope they will continue like that. I think everything was perfect, they were tactically disciplined on the pitch, they took their chances and at the end of the day, they have won. I will urge them to continue this way.”

Acknowledging the unique challenges of facing Hearts of Oak, Inkoom expresses confidence that Asante Kotoko can secure the coveted trophy if they sustain their concentration and commitment on the field.

It is noteworthy that Samuel Inkoom has a rich history with both Asante Kotoko and Hearts of Oak, having played for Kotoko during the 2008 and 2009 seasons before embarking on new challenges.

Subsequently, he joined Hearts of Oak upon his return to Ghana, contributing to the Phobians’ team last season but parting ways with the club before the commencement of the 2023/24 season.
