Bofoakwa Tano has acquired the services of former Karela United center-back, Rashid Mohammed.
Rashid Mohammed, who previously played for Legon Cities after his stint with Eleven Wonders two seasons ago, has been identified as a potential addition to bolster the team’s defense following the departure of Samuel Asamoah, who joined Kotoko a few weeks ago.
Bofoakwa Tano recently made a return to the Ghana Premier League after a 16-year absence, securing their promotion through the playoffs of the Division One League Zone One, where they defeated Eleven Wonders in a penalty shootout.
In preparation for the upcoming season, the club is actively working to reinforce its squad.
Rashid Mohammed is eager to make his mark when he joins the newly promoted side, as his performance in recent years has seen a decline. Prior to his move to Legon Cities, the 27-year-old made 31 appearances, earning five Man of the Match awards in the process. His impressive performances had also drawn interest from Free State Stars in South Africa, although the move ultimately fell through.
In the subsequent period, he has made only 18 combined appearances for both Legon Cities and Karela United. However, he is expected to rediscover his form with Bofoakwa Tano, a team based in Sunyani.
Bofoakwa Tano is scheduled to kick off their 2023/24 campaign against Great Olympics.
