Former Medeama SC striker Jonathan Sowah made an impactful debut in the Libyan Premier League, netting his first goal for Al Nasr Benghazi in a commanding 2-0 victory over FC Al Soqour.
Known for his agility and clinical finishing, Sowah demonstrated his exceptional skill set, contributing to his team’s triumph with a pivotal goal.
Sowah found the back of the net in the 9th minute of the match, capitalizing on Gabriel Orok’s assist to give his side the early lead, before Mohammed Eshkerba sealed the victory with a goal in injury time.
Despite receiving a yellow card in the 57th minute, Sowah’s performance was noteworthy, prompting his substitution in the 69th minute.
The win propelled Al Nasr to a three-point lead over second-placed Al Hilal Benghazi in the Libyan Premier League standings.
Having joined Al Nasr from Ghanaian champions Medeama SC, Sowah’s impressive displays in the Ghana Premier League and CAF Champions League paved the way for his move to the Libyan club.
His outstanding form also earned him a spot in Ghana’s final squad for the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations in Cote d’Ivoire, showcasing his talent on the international stage.
Recently making his competitive debut for the Black Stars during the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Comoros, Sowah continues to make waves in both domestic and international football.
