Ghanaian midfielder Forson Amankwah has praised his Norwich City teammates for helping him adjust quickly to his new environment following his recent move to the club.
The 21-year-old joined the Canaries on a four-year deal from RB Salzburg just before the start of the Championship season. Despite the short time with his new club, Amankwah has already made a significant impact.
He made his debut as a second-half substitute in a 2-0 loss to Oxford United, where he caught the eye of fans with his performance. Just three days later, he earned his first start in the Carabao Cup first-round match against Stevenage at Carrow Road. In this game, Amankwah played a crucial role, contributing to the opening goal and providing an assist for the final goal, leaving a strong impression on the home crowd.
Reflecting on his performance, Amankwah said, “It was really good. For a club like Norwich, the standards are very high, and today we had a good game. After the loss over the weekend, we showed up to win.”
Amankwah also emphasized the importance of his teammates in helping him adapt to English football. “I am now settling in, and I always talk with my teammates. They’re helping me a lot, especially in the game. I was really excited because it was my first game at Carrow Road. The most important thing is that we won,” he added.
As Norwich City prepares to host Blackburn on Saturday, Amankwah will be looking to build on his promising start and help his team secure their first Championship victory of the season.
