Norwich City FC midfielder Forson Amankwah delivered a standout performance on Tuesday night, playing a key role as his side secured a 2-1 victory over Derby County FC in the English Championship.
The Round 44 fixture at Carrow Road saw Norwich handed an early opportunity to take control when they were awarded a penalty in the ninth minute. However, Mohamed Toure was unable to convert from the spot, denying the hosts an early breakthrough.
Despite that setback, Norwich eventually broke the deadlock in the 33rd minute, with Toure making amends by finishing off a well-timed assist from Amankwah, who played a crucial creative role in the build-up.
Derby County responded after the break, with David Ozoh levelling the score in the 54th minute. But Norwich quickly regained control, as Liam Gibbs restored their advantage just six minutes later to seal all three points.
Amankwah, who impressed throughout the match, played 80 minutes before being substituted for Errol Mundle Smith.
The 23-year-old Ghana international has endured an injury-disrupted campaign but continues to play an important role for Norwich as the season reaches its decisive stage. His recent form is also boosting his hopes of earning a place in Ghana’s squad for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
