Frimpong Manso, the head coach of Bibiani GoldStars, remains confident of securing the 2024/25 Ghana Premier League title despite a setback over the weekend.
The Miners were hoping to increase their lead at the top of the league table but suffered a 2-0 loss to Vision FC during the Matchday 29 fixture at the Nii Adjei Kraku II Sports Complex. Despite the defeat, GoldStars remain at the top with 53 points, holding a five-point advantage with just five matches remaining in the season.
Coach Manso, however, remains optimistic about their chances of winning the league. “We have four games left, three of them at home. We know it won’t be easy, but we’re motivated to push harder,” he said after the match. He added, “Even for the away game, we’ll fight for something. We’re still on course to win the league.”
The victory for Vision FC was sealed by a late strike from Edmond Asante, who scored four minutes from time, ensuring that Nana Kweku Agyemang’s side claimed the crucial win.
Looking ahead, Bibiani GoldStars will aim to bounce back when they host struggling Karela United at the DUN’s Park on Sunday in the Matchday 30 clash.
