Fulham is edging closer to finalizing a deal with Southampton for the acquisition of Ghanaian international defender, Mohammed Salisu.

The London-based club is eager to secure the services of the talented center-back for the upcoming season and is nearing an agreement with Southampton. The deal is expected to surpass £15 million, as reported by Sky Sports.

While Southampton had previously turned down two offers from AS Monaco, the French side, for the Black Stars center-back, they are open to selling him for the right price. With Salisu’s contract set to expire next summer, the Saints seem willing to consider offers.

Since the conclusion of the 2022-23 football season, during which Southampton faced relegation to the Championship, Salisu has attracted interest from several European clubs.

The 24-year-old defender joined Southampton in August 2020 from Real Valladolid in Spain for a transfer fee of €12 million. Despite facing injuries in his debut season, Salisu has established himself as a key player in the Southampton squad over the past two seasons, delivering noteworthy performances.

Having made a total of 80 appearances in various competitions for Southampton, the highly-rated player has contributed with one goal and one assist during his time with the club.
