Asante Kotoko bounced back from their home defeat against Berekum Chelsea to beat Medeama in Tarkwa on Sunday to open a nine-point lead at the summit of the Ghana Premier League standings.
The Porcupine Warriors won by 2-0 with goals from Andrews Appau and Thiery Franck Etouga Mbella.
Center back Appau rose the highest to head home the opener in the 23rd minute from a corner kick taken by Imoro Ibrahim whilst the Cameroon attacker scored another brilliant goal to consolidate the lead of his team at he stroke of half time.
Etouga continues to lead the top scorers chart of the Ghana Premier League on 20 goals as Ashanti Gold winger Yaw Annor follows with 19 targets.
Medeama created several attacking opportunities but failed to get enough balls on target with Danlad Ibrahim pulling several top saves to keep a clean sheet.
Kotoko lead the league table on 59 points after 30 games as Bechem United and Medeama are on 50 points each after 31 matches.
