Genoa claimed a solid 2-0 win against Venezia in Serie A, with Ghanaian forward Caleb Ekuban making a decisive impact after coming on as a substitute.
Ekuban entered the game in the 60th minute, replacing the injured Vitor Oliveira, and immediately influenced the match by providing two crucial assists that sealed the victory for his team.
The contest had been evenly balanced, with both teams holding 50% possession. However, Genoa capitalized on their opportunities when it mattered most. In the 82nd minute, Andrea Pinamonti broke the deadlock with a superb right-footed strike into the top corner, following a well-timed pass from Ekuban. Just four minutes later, Ekuban set up another goal, this time delivering a precise headed pass to Maxwel Cornet, who slotted the ball home from inside the box to secure the result.
This victory marked Genoa’s fourth triumph over Venezia in their head-to-head encounters, having won three times before. Ekuban, who now has one goal and two assists this season, continues to prove his worth as an important asset for the team.
