German second-tier club Ingolstadt has reportedly decided to terminate the contract of Ghanaian midfielder Hans Nunoo Sarpei.
The 24-year-old has faced difficulties establishing himself in Germany since his initial move to VFB Stuttgart from Ghana’s Liberty Professionals in 2016.
Sarpei’s limited playing time at Stuttgart led to a loan spell at Slovakian club FK Senica, followed by a stint at German second-tier side Greuther Furth before joining Ingolstadt in 2022.
Unfortunately, Sarpei failed to meet expectations at Greuther Furth from 2019 to 2022, which ultimately led to his move to Ingolstadt.
Reports suggest that Ingolstadt has been dissatisfied with Sarpei’s performance, work rate, and overall output, leading to the decision to terminate his contract.
It is worth noting that Sarpei is the nephew of former Ghanaian defender Hans Adu Sarpei.
