The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has officially charged Asante Kotoko and Legon Cities FC for multiple regulatory violations stemming from a violent incident during their Match Day 6 encounter in the Ghana Premier League.
The charges are based on violations of Section 34(6)(d) of the GFA Premier League Regulations, 2019, and Section 16(1)(e) of the GFA Disciplinary Code, 2019.
These allegations relate to the clubs’ inability to control their officials and supporters, leading to a brawl that significantly undermined the integrity of the match.
Such misconduct poses serious threats not only to the matchday environment but also to the overall reputation of the league. In response to these developments, the GFA has mandated that both clubs submit their responses to the charges by Tuesday, November 5, 2024.
