Dr. Randy Abbey, an Executive Council Member of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), has confirmed that the GFA is on the verge of announcing the renewal of its partnership with betting company betPawa.
The company initially signed on as the headline sponsor for Ghana’s top-flight football league but withdrew its support during the 2023/24 season, raising concerns about the future of the collaboration.
Addressing these concerns, Abbey reassured fans and stakeholders, stating, “It’s a partnership that was signed for one year; both parties expressed interest in renewing, and we have made significant progress.” Speaking to Joy Sports, he added, “We are almost done with negotiations, and I’m sure that in the next few days, both parties will announce the details. We are renewing for another year.”
With the new Ghana Premier League season set to kick off on September 6, the confirmation of betPawa’s renewed sponsorship is crucial for the league’s operations and upcoming activities.
