The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has announced plans to invest over GHS 3 million in providing footballs to clubs in the topflight and lower divisions for the upcoming season, starting in September.
This initiative aims to support the development of clubs and ease the financial burden of acquiring equipment.
The investment is part of the GFA’s strategic plan to collaborate with FIFA to invest $100,000 in purchasing footballs for grassroots development.
This initiative began last season and will be repeated this year. Additionally, the GFA will invest an additional $100,000 specifically targeted at colt clubs, reinforcing the association’s dedication to nurturing young talent and providing them with the tools they need to succeed.
The announcement was made by President Kurt Okraku at the 30th Ordinary Congress held at the Ghanaian Soccer Center of Excellence, which began on Monday, August 26, and is expected to conclude today.
The Congress sets the stage for the 2024/25 Ghana football season.
