The Executive Council of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) met with Black Stars head coach Otto Addo on Wednesday, November 27, 2024, during their regular joint session with the Regional Football Association Chairmen.
In an open and candid discussion, Coach Addo presented a detailed 56-page Technical Report, which was thoroughly examined by the Executive Council and the Regional Chairmen. The coach responded to questions and provided additional insights into the report’s findings.
Coach Addo took full responsibility for the team’s underperformance and acknowledged the areas that needed improvement. He highlighted his commitment to developing a strong and cohesive team structure, focusing on discipline, accountability, trust, and a clear playing philosophy for both players and the backroom staff.
During the meeting, the Executive Council and Regional Chairmen expressed the nation’s shared disappointment with the Black Stars’ recent results. They reiterated the widespread desire for Ghana to qualify for the 2026 World Cup and stressed the need for improved performance, particularly in the upcoming World Cup qualifiers.
It was communicated to Coach Addo that the GFA would conduct further consultations with key stakeholders to devise a comprehensive plan for the national team.
The GFA remains committed to working closely with stakeholders to make holistic decisions that prioritize the growth of Ghana football, with a focus on restoring the Black Stars to their former glory.
