It has been reported that German national Bernhard Lippert has resigned from his role as the Technical Director of the Ghana Football Association.
The exact reason for his sudden departure has not been made public. Lippert had initially been appointed to this position in 2020 for a two-year term, and no official extension was announced despite serving beyond this period.
Lippert had taken on this role three years ago, succeeding the veteran Ghanaian coach Oti Akenteng. As the Technical Director, his responsibilities included developing guidelines, strategies, and policies aimed at the training and technical development of football coaches in Ghana.
He also provided advice to the Executive Council on coaching and technical development matters and oversaw the work of national football team coaches.
Throughout his tenure, questions arose regarding Lippert’s performance, and his resignation seems to have been welcomed by some. His departure leaves a vacant position within the technical leadership of the Ghana Football Association.
