Southampton winger Kamaldeen Sulemana is set to miss the club’s upcoming league match against AFC Bournemouth on Monday, September 30, due to a persistent injury.

During a pre-match press conference, Southampton manager Russell Martin confirmed that the Ghanaian winger, who was injured during preseason, is still not fit to return. Sulemana, who joined Southampton in January 2023 from French side Stade Rennais, has been plagued by injuries and has yet to feature in the 2024-2025 season.

“We have no one coming back that we didn’t expect… Kamaldeen is still a bit away from being with us,” Martin stated, highlighting the slower-than-expected recovery for the 22-year-old.

Last season, Sulemana made 18 appearances, scoring two goals and providing one assist. However, his absence this season has been noticeable, with Southampton struggling in the early stages of the campaign. In addition to missing club matches, Sulemana is also expected to be unavailable for Ghana’s 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying doubleheader against Sudan in October.

The Saints are eagerly awaiting his return to help boost their form in the league.
