Sunderland manager Regis Le Bris has shared uncertainty about the timeline for the return of Ghanaian midfielder Abdul Salis Samed, who is recovering from a muscle injury.
During a press conference ahead of Sunderland’s upcoming match against Watford in the EFL Championship, Le Bris expressed caution about bringing Samed back into action too quickly.
Samed, who arrived at Sunderland on loan from RC Lens this summer, has yet to make an appearance for the team due to the injury. Although his recovery is progressing, Le Bris emphasized the importance of patience to avoid any setbacks.
“I’m not sure exactly when Salis will be ready to play. He’s feeling better, but with this type of injury, pushing too hard could lead to further problems,” Le Bris explained.
Sunderland, currently in second place with 15 points from six games, is likely to wait until after the international break before Samed is fully fit to return to the pitch.
